Pathetic.

It's kind of sad, but I am incredibly excited for television tonight. Wednesday is the hump of my week and my own personal peak for TV watching. For three solid hours I ignore everything else, including homework, personal hygiene, cleaning and the interwebs, plop down in front of the aptly named boob tube and immerse myself in reality television and well crafted melodrama.

I start prime time off with some America's Next Top Model. Tyra Banks may annoy the hell out of me with her ridiculous model faces and the way she smiles with her eyes, but I am thoroughly addicted to this show and I can't even figure out why. I will watch marathons of it, even though I've seen all eight 'cycles' at least twice. Maybe I like to watch "beautiful," emaciated girls do crazy shit every week. Maybe I like the competitive aspect of it, football for girls perhaps?

After seeing whose dreams of model stardom have been crushed, I keep the CW madness going by watching Gossip Girl. It's a based on a series of books that I read one of about five years ago and loved, but deemed too unintelligent to continue reading. I may be a literary snob, but I am NOT above watching this on TV. Who doesn't want to see well-dressed Upper East Siders make themselves, and others, miserable?

Finally, I am PUMPED (yea, I said it), for the return of Project Runway. Again the theme of superficial people competing for temporary fame, followed by a career of "Aren't you the girl/guy from..." with little actual merit or accomplishment attached to their name. On this show, though, they actually have to possess some element of talent, otherwise how could they fashion an evening gown out of deli meat or some other ridiculous food item?

And so, with 10 minutes to go until my weekly routine, I bid you adieu to go don my sweatpants and lay in my bed, with no intention of moving until Heidi barks her usual "Auf Wiedersehen."
